US hotel and casino operator Boyd Gaming Corp announced it will buy Peninsula Gaming LLC for $1.45 billion.
The deal will add five casinos to Boyd’s portfolio, including one in Kansas, two in Iowa and two in Louisiana, according to the Associated Press.

The historical Beau Sancy diamond was bought by an anonymous bidder for $9.7 million at a Sotheby’s auction in Geneva on Tuesday.
The Beau Sancy is a 34.98 carat diamond which was passed among the royal families in France, England, Prussia and the Netherlands. It was sold by the Royal House of Prussia, the line of descendants that once ruled Prussia, according to Associated Press.

During the first quarter of 2012, the average cost of a night in the Brazilian city was £192.88, almost 50 per cent more expensive than during the same period last year, according to The Telegraph.
