British plasterer Anthony Young won a £2.3 million Lotto jackpot last month and vowed to spend some of his fortune looking for love.
His last relationship ended a year ago, but the 33-year-old hopes his £2.3 million win means his luck has changed.
The Burnley FC fan is planning to pack his bags and travel around the world for six months in search for Ms Right.
He said: “I know the right person for me is out there somewhere. Now all I’ve got to do is find her.
“I’ve got six months of thinking what to do and I’m going to do it in the places I’ve always dreamt of visiting.
“I’m just going to get on a plane and go. I had my first foreign holiday last year in Cuba and I loved it so I will be starting off there then moving on. I have not decided whether I’m going on my own or with a friend. But I do know I’m going to have a brilliant time.”
Anthony’s win couldn’t have come at a better time. He had been unable to find work plastering so accepted a temporary job as a £210-a-week machine operator at a factory making car parts for Toyota. He was due to be laid off in June.
He added: “This win just hasn’t sunk in yet and is still a big shock to me.”
“I came back from a party feeling really rough and realised I may be a winner after I checked the results on TV.
“I went to the pub and had the ticket in my pocket before hiding it under my carpet when I went to bed.
“I didn’t sleep a wink and was walking the dog at 4am on Monday waiting for the phone line to open.”
Anthony, who rents a house with his brother in Burnley, has now promised to buy his mum a new home.
He picked up his prize money cheque at Turf Moor stadium – home of his beloved Burnley FC – and said he will also treat himself to a season ticket.
When he returns from his travels, he plans to set up his own plastering business.
