Samsung, the world’s number 1 technology firm in terms of revenue, reported a record net profit of $4.5 billion for the quarter as customers around the world flocked to buy Galaxy S3 smartphones.
South Korean electronics giant Samsung Electronics Co said Friday its net profit surged to 5.2 trillion won ($4.5 billion) in the April-June quarter, representing a 48 per cent increase over the previous year.

The first ready-made personal computer, an Apple 1, has sold for $374,500 at a Sotheby’s auction.
The computer, which came only as a naked motherboard, is reportedly one of only six working examples of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak’s first Apple hardware, according to The Telegraph.

Swiss jewellery maker La Maison Shawish recently launched its luxury Magic Mushroom USB flash drives. And although they can only store 32GB of data, these little gadgets could cost up to $37,000 depending on the colour, Tecca reported.
