A song by a 13-year-old American teenager – dubbed as ‘the worst song ever’ – has gone viral on YouTube, attracting over 30 million views.
The pop song called Friday is sung by Rebecca Black and was uploaded to YouTube last month by Ark Music Factory, a Los Angeles-based company that was hired by the girl’s parents to produce the song for their daughter.

Reality show American Idol made more money from advertising revenue than any other US television show in 2010, according to a survey by Forbes magazine.
The show raked in an estimated $7.1 million every half hour during its last series, when Simon Cowell was still on the judging panel, accompanied by Ellen DeGeneres, Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson.

A big thumbs up to Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock who donated $1 million to the American Red Cross this week to aid victims of the earthquake and tsunami crisis in Japan.
The contribution came after the US aid agency announced it had given $10 million to the Japanese Red Cross to help after last Friday’s devastating quake.

US actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who plays a country singer in the country drama film Country Strong, has just signed a deal with Atlantic Records to record her debut album.
The deal is worth $900,000 and will see her debut album released later this year.
