If a spanking new Apple iPad isn’t quite enough for you to show off with, don’t worry. You can now take the ‘wow’ factor up a notch with a a gold-plated, diamond-encrusted iPad – for just under £130,000.

The solid-gold iPad Supreme Edition, worth £129,995, gives you Wi-Fi, 3G, 64GB – and a whole lot more.

The work of  UK-based designer Stuart Hughes, who specialises in ultra-expensive blinged-up gadgetry, the iPad Supreme is covered in 22 carat gold and encrusted with 25.5 carats of flawless diamonds, 53 of which “dwell beautifully in their solid 22 carat Apple logo,” according to Hughes.

The rear and screen surround are made from a single piece of solid 22 carat gold, weighing 2.1kg.

Hughes describes his creation as: “Outstanding, even down to the precise polishing to reveal its most beautiful harmonious appearance.

He added: “A magnificent combination of top-of-the-industry technology and unrivalled craftsmanship was involved in creating this masterpiece.”

Only 10 of the iPad Supreme units will be made.

About the designer:

Born in 1971 in the vibrant city of Liverpool, England a place famous for all aspects of creativity and innovation including the Arts, Music and of course Football, Stuart Hughes began to gather all the citys success stories to begin his own.

Along with his wife Katherine Hughes he started to get the wheels in motion in forming Goldstriker International which was the backbone for creating these wonderful exclusive new projects. The items had to be unique with very high attention to detail even down to the handmade boxes to house such beauty.

Along with Stuart’s exquisite idea for design and Katherine’s sheer eye for beauty the production began. The idea simple in letting the technology embrace luxury.

The layout had to be genuine, never to project an illusion most importantly in the strict non use of computer generated images which unfortunately appear quite regularly on the internet these days.

Stylish or tacky? Don’t know. One thing is sure though, it’s very expensive!
