Ohio’s second casino, Hollywood Casino Toledo, opens its doors to the public today – two weeks after the US state’s first casino opened in Cleveland.
Invitation-only guests were given a glimpse of the new casino last week, to rave reviews.
“We have a variety of tables. We have 33 blackjack tables in total, eight craps, six roulette, three mini baccarat, two Pai Gou poker,” casino table games director Neal Perry said.
And if you get peckish between tables, the casino boasts a large buffet, a sports bar and a steak restaurant.
Ohio’s indoor smoking ban in public places means patrons can’t smoke while playing, which casino management believes is a good thing.
“Here, it’s not going to be smoking, there has never been smoking, so just the freshness, that air quality, the ability for us to circulate that air. It’s just a complete difference,” said the casino’s Assistant General Manager Mike Galle.
Instead, smokers can take a cigarette break in one of the casino’s designated outdoor patios.
Penn National Gaming Inc developed the casino. The developer also plans to construct a casino in Columbus later this year.
Officials expect the Toledo casino to attract approximately 2.8 million visitors a year.View Comments
