Araneta was recognised by Guinness World Records in June 2010 as the maker of the World’s Most Expensive Sushi, costing 91,800 pesos (US$1,978.15) for five pieces.

A whisky created to mark British Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee has gone on sale in Singapore for S$250,000 a bottle.

Only 60 bottles of Diamond Jubilee whisky were made by the Johnnie Walker unit of Diageo PLC from a blend of whiskies distilled in 1952, The Telegraph reported.

A sapphire-studded $35 million cake, named ‘Pirates Fantasy’, has been dubbed the world’s most expensive cake.

The ten-layered cake was crafted and designed by celebrity chef Dimuthu Kumarasinghe, group skills development chef at Aitken Spence Hotels and Heritance Hotels & Resorts, and was unveiled at the Heritance Ahungalla in Sri Lanka.

Last week, Guide Michelin published its 2012 guide to Main Cities of Europe. Little surprise, perhaps, Parisian restaurants received plenty of three-stars, and in general, French restaurants are in the lead by a long mile.

We thought, we would give a little highlight to three new Michelin star restaurants, who did particularly well this year. Make sure to check them out, if you are travelling in Europe this summer.

You never know when you are going to have that craving that going out to a neighborhood restaurant or ordering takeout /delivery is simply NOT going to satisfy. If you have the resources (as we know you do), have you thought about calling upon FedEx to deliver your favorite meal?

Sushi chefs use overnight international delivery all the time to obtain the freshest fish for their restaurants, and we can order all types of frozen foods… so why not take out from a place hundreds or thousands of miles away? Just put it on some dry ice, obtain some reheating instructions if necessary, and we would be more than happy to gobble it up.   This is what we would pay a premium for…
