About 300,000 people around the world tried to secure a spot in the Guinness World Records on Guinness World Records Day on Thursday.
Among some of the quirky attempts to set new Guinness World Records were a gathering of 57 people in Canary Wharf, London, who crammed into a large pair of bright pink underpants to break the record for the most people in a pair of pants.

A tea made from panda poo doesn’t sound very appetising, but a Chinese businessman has been awarded a patent by the Chinese authorities for his proposal to grow tea using panda faeces as a fertiliser.
Former university lecturer An Yashi, 41, will soon start planting his ‘panda tea’ and is hoping for a Guinness World Record.

‘Dancing Shoplifter’ Anthony DiVietro has been found and arrested after CCTV video footage of him went viral on YouTube.
DiVietro, 26, walked into a Kmart store in New Jersey and was seen on CCTV footage dancing as he checked out the latest t-shirts on offer.
