An 8,500-gallon margarita was created by Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville Casino in Las Vegas on Friday, breaking the Guinness World Record for largest margarita set in Vegas last year.
The two-storey margarita – called ‘Lucky Rita’ – took three days and over 300 man-hours to be concocted.
Buffet himself appeared at the Margaritaville Casino to toast to the record-breaking margarita, before the cocktail was shared among thousands of revellers.
For each gallon of the giant margarita sold, $5 went to the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team.
According to USA Today, Margaritaville Casino said the giant margarita contained 2,125 gallons of Margaritaville Gold Tequila, 708 gallons of Margaritaville Triple Sec, 5,667 gallons of Margarita Mix, plus 22,267 limes. The recipe serves 181,333 12-ounce margaritas.
