A replica of the house featured in the 2009 Pixar animated film Up is up for sale for $399,000.
The Pixar film, which grossed over $731 million worldwide, tells the story of an elderly man who strikes up an unlikely relationship with a young scout after his wife passes away.
Film fans who enjoy blurring the lines between fantasy and reality can now live in a real-life replica of the house from the movie.
The replica house, however, is located in Utah, while in the film, the house is shown as being located in Oakland’s Piedmont Avenue.
Utah-based home builder Bangerter Homes just finished building the four-bedroom, 2,800-square-foot replica with the exact colours and interior details as the one from the film, including replica furniture.
As close as the house may look to the real thing, it is not an exact replica because the builder says there was no blueprint available for them to follow.
The house was built with the full permission of Disney, Pixar’s parent company, under the condition that the builder hand over the plans for the house once it was built.
