A Powerball jackpot prize in the U.S. has snowballed to a massive $245 million.
The chances of winning the Powerball jackpot are just over one in 195 million, but that hasn’t stopped people who have never even played from buying tickets for the draw.
The huge jackpot came about after 13 consecutive draws produced no winners.
The $245 million prize is the highest offered so far for 2011.
If only one winning ticket was sold, it would be worth about $245 million, before income taxes are taken out, according to lottery officials.
However, if the winner chooses the cash option, the jackpot would be worth $146.2 million before taxes.
If no one wins this week’s massive jackpot, the pot will grow to $300 million or more, New Jersey Lottery Executive Director Carole Hedinger said.
What would you do with that much money?
