British retailer Marks and Spencer (M&S) has announced that they are creating a men’s underwear line inspired by Twilight star Robert Pattinson, who is known by fans as R-Patz.
Aptly called the R-Pant, the vampire-inspired slim-fit underwear collection of low-rise briefs and trunks are designed to be worn under skinny jeans and trousers, a look made famous by the likes of Katy Perry’s man Russell Brand and, of course, the man himself, R-Patz.
In recent years, footballers have been used to market men’s underwear. Cristiano Ronaldo is the current poster boy for Emporio Armani, a role he inherited from David Beckham. Pattinson’s skinnier look however signals a move away from this trend.
Unfortunately for fans though, 24-year-old Pattinson will not star in an advertising campaign for M&S. But a spokesman said the Twilight actor has been spotted shopping for underwear at the store.
The new range will go on sale in September.
Meanwhile, fellow vampire Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen in the Twilight saga, is now fronting Calvin Klein underwear. It remains to be seen whether his onscreen brother Pattinson has just as much of that sexy vampire factor to get the R-Pant collection walking off the shelves in M&S’s underwear department.
