Nothing says “happy birthday” more than a robotic cow. At least that’s the case when you’re British bad boy comedian Russell Brand, who has just reportedly splashed out £20,000 on an animatronic petting zoo for songstress girlfriend Katy Perry’s 25th birthday.
Brand was keen to impress his birthday girl with an extra special gift, so he decided on a robotic petting zoo after the couple enjoyed a movie date at Hollywood’s Grove Leisure complex, where a temporary petting zoo had been set up.
“She was really taken with the petting zoo temporarily set up next to the Farmer’s Market,” a source told The Sun.
“There are real animals in one section and then this amazing fake menagerie for kids. You can milk the cow and ride on the pony. It’s very kitsch and fun.”
But although Perry said she wanted to have a go on everything, she held back as she didn’t want to be photographed – and that’s when boyfriend Brand’s gift idea sprung to mind.
“While she was looking at a goat being unloaded Russell got the contact details of the event organisers,” the source revealed.
“He has arranged for the zoo to arrive at Katy’s LA home for her birthday. She will be tickled pink.”
Talk about being into your petting, Russell!
