On Friday, it was revealed a couple from the small community of Paradise Hill in Saskatchewan, Canada, won a recent lottery draw for a massive prize of $40 million.
According to the local lottery agency, the win was valued at an incredible $40,000,020.
John and Darlene Kinzel took the top prize from the Lotto Max draw one week ago.
On Friday, they were presented their cheque in front of the media and said they planned to stay in Paradise Hill, a village of about 485 people.
Speculation about the big win was the talk of the town in the small community of Paradise Hill in Saskatchewan, Western Canada, since news media caught on that a local couple were likely to be the winners of the jackpot prize.
The retired couple moved to Paradise Hill three years ago.
They say they plan to spend their winnings on travel, building a new home and helping family members.
According to the Western Canada Lottery Corporation, the Kinzels’ win marks a new record for a lottery prize awarded in the region.
The previous record was $25 million awarded to a couple from northern Saskatchewan in 2010.
