Music

You’ve heard the YouTube viral hit, Rebecca Black’s Friday, which has been described as the “worst song ever”.

Now, the song has received the star treatment, with US comedians Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon performing it live on Friday’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

With the Roots band backing them, the two put on a spirited performance of the Rebecca Black song, which has now attracted more than 79 million hits on YouTube.

Their cover also got the AutoTune treatment during the song’s most ridiculous lyrics: “Yesterday was Thursday, today it is Friday. We so excited, we so excited. We gonna have a ball today. Tomorrow is Saturday, and Sunday comes afterwards.”

Towards the song’s finale, former American Idol winner Taylor Hicks appeared on stage to join the performance, bringing it to a rousing end.
