An island used by smugglers in the Middle Ages is up for sale for the reduced price of £95,000.
The 5.8ha (14.5 acre) Sully Island is 400m (1,300ft) off the Welsh Glamorgan coastline – but can be accessed on foot via a rocky causeway at low tide.
Estate agent Chris Hyde said: “Islands in Britain just don’t sell that often. There’s also something romantic about owning an island.
“You don’t quite appreciate how captivating it is until you’re here. It offers someone a unique opportunity to own a very special piece of land.”
Notorious pirate Nighthawk – buccaneer Alfredo de Marisco – set up a base on the island in the 13th century. Evidence has also been discovered of Roman and Viking activity on the island.
The grass, gorse and sandy rock is listed as a Site of Special Scientific Interest which means the island cannot be built on.
The island is accessible via a 400-metre sand and stone causeway for just two hours either side of low tide and is surrounded by the second highest tidal range in the world.
Mr Hyde, who just last year had the island on the market for a staggering £1.25 million, said the building constraints wouldn’t put the right buyer off.
“Sully Island has a certain air to it. While you’re linked by a stone causeway [at low tide], the mainland is a mere 400 metres away but you do feel isolated, you do feel like you’re away from it all. It’s very peaceful and quiet,” he said.
“There is a real mystique to owning an island, and Sully Island is quite mystical.”
The eventual buyer of Sully Island will join a list of private island owners such as billionaire Richard Branson and Pirates Of The Caribbean star Johnny Depp.
