Taylor Swift received the top honour at the 46th Academy of Country Music Awards held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Sunday night, winning the entertainer of the year award.

The 21-year-old songstress beat the likes of Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, and even the night’s overall winner, Miranda Lambert, to take home the coveted award.

While Fox has officially said “no comment,” an inside music source confirmed to E! News that Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler finalised negotiations with the US television network late last week and is officially signed on to be a judge on the 10th season of American Idol.

Renowned for his taste for crazy fashion and make-up, Tyler is set to bring back the wackiness Idol has lacked since Paula Abdul left her judge’s seat in 2009.
