An Australian couple has made their way into the Guinness World Records after setting a new record for the largest number of Christmas lights on their home.
David and Janean Richards, from Australia’s capital Canberra, switched on 331,038 coloured lights to achieve the official Guinness World Record.

About 300,000 people around the world tried to secure a spot in the Guinness World Records on Guinness World Records Day on Thursday.
Among some of the quirky attempts to set new Guinness World Records were a gathering of 57 people in Canary Wharf, London, who crammed into a large pair of bright pink underpants to break the record for the most people in a pair of pants.

A Manhattan restaurant’s $69 hot dog has been declared the world’s most expensive hot dog by the Guinness World Records.
Restaurant Serendipity 3, which also holds the record for the world’s most expensive ice-cream sundae at $1,000 and the largest hot chocolate at four gallons (15 litres), set its latest record on Friday – National Hot Dog Day in the US.
