Rio de Janeiro has surpassed Sydney as the world’s most expensive major city for a hotel stay, according to a recent study.
During the first quarter of 2012, the average cost of a night in the Brazilian city was £192.88, almost 50 per cent more expensive than during the same period last year, according to The Telegraph.
