The $275,000 Ferrari ‘bible’

Ferrari has released a diamond-studded book, dubbed the Ferrari ‘bible’, priced at a staggering $AU275,000.

The most extravagant – and expensive – version of the Official Ferrari Opus, the Enzo ‘Diamante’ Edition, weighs 37 kilograms and features a handcrafted red-leather cover embossed with Ferrari’s famous horse logo comprising 30 rare white diamonds.

The 852-page book measures 50cm by 50cm and includes 200,000 words and 2000 pictures, including details of every Ferrari road car and racing car ever built, as well as exclusive interviews and profiles of every driver who has raced for the Ferrari team.

“Opus is not a book; it’s a concerto,” says Antonio Ghini, creative advisor for the Opus.

“[It's] a triumphant opera whose score is made up of cars, technology, history and achievements, and whose heroes will live on forever. Opus, like Ferrari, is a unique experience.”

But it’s not just Ferrari on paper you could get for your $275,000. Owners of the Enzo Diamante Edition will be entered into a prize draw to win a “unique” Ferrari Formula One racing car.

There are less exorbitant versions of the book available, but they’re still not cheap.

A regular ‘Enzo’ edition costs $34,925, is limited to 400 copies, is presented in a carbon-fibre casing, and is available with a bespoke bookstand created by interior designers Candy and Candy.

There are 500 versions of the ‘Cavallino Rampante’ version, which costs $6545 and is signed by a number of Ferrari legends.

Ferrari’s most affordable Opus is the ‘Classic’, of which 4100 copies are available worldwide. Priced at $3520, it’s encased in a silk-cloth case and is signed by current Ferrari F1 drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa.

The Enzo Diamante Edition is strictly limited to just one copy per country.
