A lucky lottery ticket holder based in the UK has won nearly £41 million after Friday’s EuroMillions draw.
Operators of the UK National Lottery, Camelot, said the winner scooped the EuroMillions rollover jackpot of £40,627,241 in Friday night’s draw, but is yet to come forward to claim the prize.
A Camelot spokesperson said: “This is fantastic news – we’re absolutely delighted to have yet another huge EuroMillions win here in the UK.
“We have plenty of champagne on ice and look forward to welcoming the lucky ticketholder into The National Lottery millionaires’ club.
“Over 2,800 people have become millionaires since The National Lottery began and, to date, our players have raised an amazing £27 billion and counting for National Lottery Good Causes.”
The £41 million win marks the seventh biggest lottery win in the UK. The record for the biggest-ever UK lottery win is held by Colin and Chris Weir from Scotland, who won a massive £161 million EuroMillions jackpot last July.
The winning EuroMillions numbers from Friday’s draw were: 2, 10, 22, 27 and 28, and the winning Lucky Star numbers were 6 and 8.
