A lucky lottery winner in the US has scooped a whopping $336 million jackpot, but is yet to claim their prize.
The winning Powerball ticket was purchased at a supermarket in Newport in the US state of Rhode Island, lottery officials announced at a press conference on Monday.
The massive $336 million prize is the third-largest Powerball jackpot in history and the largest ever won in Rhode Island, but if the winner chooses the cash option, the after-tax payout will be $210 million, Powerball’s largest-ever cash jackpot, ABC News reported.
The jackpot is also the sixth largest in U.S. history, according to a lottery spokesperson. The largest-ever jackpot was a $390 million Mega Millions prize won in March 2007, the spokesperson added.
The winning numbers, 1-10-37-52-57, with a Powerball of 11, were drawn Saturday.
To win, players must pick all five numbers from a pool of 59, as well as the correct Powerball number, drawn from a pool of 35. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 175,223,510.
The jackpot nearly doubled from $173.5 million on February 1, since the ticket price increased from $1 to $2 last month, according to The Associated Press. Next week’s jackpot goes back to $40 million.
