Bugatti has just sold the 300th and final Veyron 16.4 Coupe, bringing production of the world’s most expensive car to an end.
The car had a selling price of a cool €1.2 million.
The Super Sport version of the Veyron however, which is the fastest road-legal car in the world, will continue to be sold.
The Super Sport has a top speed of 431kph, while the original version has a top speed of 408kph.
Wolfgang Durheimer, President of Bugatti, said: “In the Veyron the Bugatti team has created a vehicle that has already become an icon of automotive history.
“Both technologically and in terms of design, the Veyron is still far ahead of its time.”
Design of the Bugatti Veyron started soon after Volkswagen bought the rights to the famous name in 1998.
The 1,001hp supercar has topped the supercar Top Trumps stakes since its launch later in 2005 – from its 0-60mph (97kph) time of 2.5 seconds to its carbonfibre monocoque that remains the stiffest, most rigid in the world.
The Super Sport later took the honour of the fastest car in the world, reaching an incredible 431kph.
A European customer bought the last Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Coupe, with delivery scheduled for next autumn.
