World’s most expensive date

So you made a right mess of things this Valentine’s Day. Don’t beat yourself up about it – there’s a way to redeem yourself. A luxury hotel in the UK launched what has been dubbed “the world’s most expensive date” on Monday.

For the price of £45,000 (a small price to pay for your dearly beloved, right?), couples will be whisked by helicopter or private jet to Amberley Castle, a luxury castle hotel in Sussex.

Stylists, beauty therapists and even dentists will be on hand to ensure the pair look their best for their big date.

Then, once they’re preened up and good-to-go, they will enjoy a 10-course menu in total privacy, since for the price, there will be no other guests at the 19-bedroom castle that night.

For those couples still getting acquainted, separate suites are an option, while more adventurous couples can indulge in a champagne bubble bath – for another £60,000.

Hotel manager Oliver Smith said: “We see lots of first dates. After witnessing one go not quite so well we decided to create this package to help out hapless romantics.”

We’re pretty sure the world’s most expensive date will do the trick nicely.
