The world’s most expensive model car – a tiny Bugatti Veyron replica – has been constructed from 24-carat gold, platinum and diamonds, with a price tag of £2 million.
The whopping price is enough to purchase two of the real cars, which are owned by celebrities including ex-American Idol judge Simon Cowell.
The Bugatti Veyron Diamond Ltd Edition – of which only three will be made – are the creation of UK-based designer Stuart Hughes and Swiss luxury model car maker Robert Gulpen.
It comes with working doors, bonnet, and, reportedly, steering. Under the bonnet will be a tiny version of the 16-cylinder ‘W’ engine, which drives the real car to almost 254mph (409kph).
The full-size version is named after Pierre Veyron, the French Le Mans winner, who drove for Bugatti.
