The gold-plated armoured SUV featured in the soon-to-be-released comedy film The Dictator can be yours for a cool USD500,000.
Ten of the Dartz Prombron Aladeen Edition SUVs, named after Sacha Baron Cohen’s character in the film, Admiral General Aladeen, have been put up for sale to the public, according to Daily Mail.
Three of the unique SUVs feature in General Aladeen’s motorcade in the film, which will be released in the U.S. next week.
According to a Dartz press release announcing the SUV’s public sale: “His Excellency Admiral General Aladeen has graciously granted his express permission for Dartz Motorz, manufacturer of ultra-luxury armored vehicles and exclusive provider to the Wadiyan government motor pool, to offer limited edition commemorative vehicles honoring the Ruthless Protector of the Precious and Expendable People of Wadiya. Like civil rights in Wadiya, this offer will not be around for long.”
The original vehicle was unveiled by Dartz, a Latvian armoured vehicle manufacturer, at the Top Marques Show 2012 in Monaco last month.
Dartz has produced armoured vehicles for Vladimir Lenin, Leon Trotsky and Tsar Nicolas, and has incorporated the safest features and most luxurious extras in the limited edition SUV’s design.
The vehicle features bulletproof windows with three-inch thick anodised glass, protecting occupants with resistance to rocket-propelled grenades and .50 calibre high velocity armour piercing rounds.
Luxury features include reclining massage seats, champagne bottle chillers and wine racks for those who want to sit back and enjoy the ride.
But it’s not just the interior Dartz have thought of. Outside, the vehicle also features eight security cameras.
A standard Prombron is available with a choice of 10 interior treatments, including snake, crocodile, whale, chameleon, or elephant skins.
The Aladeen Edition takes the luxury factor up a notch and also features a gold-plated exterior.
The limited edition vehicles range in price from USD500,000 to 750,000, depending on equipment and package options.
The Dartz Prombron Aladeen Edition isn’t the first Dartz vehicle to grab headlines, though.
In 2009, the company offered for sale a USD1.5 million Monaco Red Diamond Edition, with gold-plated windows, pure tungsten exhausts, speed gauges encrusted in diamonds, and, perhaps most famously, leather seats made from a whale’s penis.View Comments
