Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to become world’s most expensive footballer

Zlatan Ibrahimovic it set to become the world’s most expensive player in football history after French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)’s £51 million joint bid for the AC Milan striker and Brazil defender Thialgo Silva.

According to Daily Mail, the 27-year-old Brazilian is likely to decline the transfer offer, but if the £32 million part of the bid belonging to Ibrahimovic goes ahead, it would mean the 30-year-old Swede would become the world’s most expensive footballer, at a total cost of almost £150 million in transfer fees.

Ibrahimovic has played for Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona and AC Milan during his football career so far.

PSG is managed by ex-Chelsea and Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti.

The club was taken over by billionaire Qatari investors in 2011 and has already announced the signing of Napoli forward Ezequiel Lavezzi for a reported £24 million this Northern summer.
